Chandler Bulk Trash Pickup: Booking, Fees, and Rules

Four free pickups a year, then $43. How the appointment works, the two-pile rule, the 16-foot limit, and where the stuff Chandler will not take actually goes.

Chandler bulk trash pickup is by appointment, not by zone. You book a date online 7 to 14 days out or by phone, the first four pickups each year are free, and after that each one is $43. The pile can be 16 feet long, and it has to be split into a metal pile and a trash pile.

Chandler is the most paperwork-heavy bulk program in the East Valley and also the most flexible, since you pick the date. The rules here come from the city's curbside bulk collection page and the fee schedule that took effect March 2, 2026.

How do I schedule bulk pickup in Chandler?

  1. Fill out the Bulk Request Form. Online bookings land 7 to 14 days out. Calling 480-782-3510, Monday to Friday 8 to 5, can sometimes get you in sooner.
  2. List what you are putting out. This is not optional. Chandler sends one truck for the recyclable pile and another for the trash pile, and the list decides which trucks come.
  3. Watch for the confirmation email with your date. Changes and cancellations are phone only, before 5 p.m. the business day before.
  4. Set the pile out no more than 24 hours ahead. The crew comes between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. on your date.

One rule to take seriously: a booked pickup that is not out, or is out wrong, still burns one of your four free ones. So does a pile that is too big and gets left. Get it right the first time.

What does Chandler bulk pickup cost?

ItemCost
First four bulk pickups and collection center trips per year, combinedFree
Each bulk pickup after the fourth$43
Appliance with freon or coolant (fridge, freezer, A/C, dehumidifier)$15 per item, added to your utility bill
Collection center load after the free four$14 up to 400 lb, $70 a ton above that

The four-count is shared. Two bulk pickups plus two dump runs in March means the rest of the year costs money. Fee lines are in the citywide fee schedule, section 7.2.

What are the set-out rules?

What Chandler will take

In the recycle pile: flattened cardboard, disassembled metal, appliances like washers, dryers, water heaters and window A/C units, electronics, and flat-screen TVs and monitors. In the trash pile: tree and yard trimmings, broken furniture that cannot be donated, toys, household trash and textiles, and tube, console, and projection TVs.

Mattresses are not on either list. I could not find a Chandler page that says yes or no, so ask when you book. The collection center takes furniture if you would rather not gamble a free pickup on it.

Where is the Chandler dump?

The Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center at 955 E. Queen Creek Rd., with the entrance on the south side of Queen Creek west of McQueen. Open Thursday through Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. in summer, which runs from the Thursday after Memorial Day to the Sunday before Labor Day. Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and holidays.

Bring a photo ID and a current Chandler utility bill on every visit. No contractors, no non-residents. It takes household trash, furniture, yard waste, household construction debris, scrap metal, appliances, electronics, and tires, which is most of what the curb refuses. It does not take medical waste, liquids, septic, or anything commercial. Loads under 400 pounds use one of your four free visits; after that the $14 and $70-a-ton rates above apply.

Where does hazardous waste go?

Same address, different door, and appointment only. Call 480-782-3510 to book a drop-off at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility. Bring ID and your bill; the material has to come from the address on it. Limits are 25 gallons of paint, 10 gallons of automotive fluids, 10 gallons of cooking oil, nothing in a container over 5 gallons, and no plastic bags. Hazardous-only loads do not count against your four free visits. The city does not list a fee for it.

Who takes donations in Chandler?

Chandler keeps a real reuse and donation page with nine organizations and their pickup rules: Habitat for Humanity ReStore, St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, Stardust Building Supplies, Sunshine Acres, Treasures 4 Teachers, Vietnam Veterans of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Arizona Humane Society. If the couch still works, that page beats the bulk pile. Our own furniture donation guide covers which of those actually pick up.

When it is worth calling us instead

If you have a free pickup left, two weeks to wait, and a pile that fits the rules, book it. Free wins.

Call us when the program does not fit. You used your four, or you need it gone before the 7-day window opens. The stuff is tile, drywall, pavers, or a countertop, none of which go at the curb. You do not want to spend a Saturday taking apart chairs into metal and not-metal. The fridge needs freon paperwork you do not have. Or the pile is in a back bedroom in Ocotillo and "within 4 feet of the curb" means you carry every piece.

Pricing is flat and based on trailer space. Single items start at $70, a quarter load is $160, and a full trailer is $500, with loading, hauling, and dump fees included. The quote is the price for the job you showed me. If the job changes, the price changes, and I will say so before we load. The full breakdown is in how junk removal pricing works.

Text a photo of the pile to (480) 316-1884 and you will usually have a price within the hour. Chandler is about 20 minutes from my driveway in Mesa. More on our Chandler junk removal page, and the Gilbert rules next door in the Gilbert bulk trash guide.
